What We Do
In Luke 17, there are ten lepers who go to Jesus and are cleansed. Their problem is taken care of quickly, and they go on their way. But one comes back and is seeking to be well – not just superficially, but the profound healing that comes from an encounter with Christ, the one who healed him. All ten were healed; however, the one came back for wholeness (the ability to reproduce and share with others what they have received). The program at Abba’s House is designed just for this: to bring young adults to complete healing, not just superficial treatment of the symptoms.
Healing is a journey. Some parts are easy, and some parts are more difficult, but the Lord’s healing plan for wholeness comes about through the following tools:
- Dedicated missionary team serving on staff for the ministry
- Love and guidance from the staff and volunteers
- Prayer counseling
- Group sessions
- School at Hope Academy
- Life Skills: Horticulture, car restoration, sports, cooking, caring for farm animals
- Chapels and guest speakers
- Bible Studies
Abba’s House focuses on restoration with young adults and their families, healing spirit, soul, and body through these tools. The Lord says that they will know the truth and the truth will set them free (John 8:32).
Abba’s House is structured with four phases in order to give the families a sense of growth and accomplishment; each phase comes with new privileges and responsibilities.
Each young adult and family gets as much out of the program at Abba’s House as they put in. The more transparent the families are with each other and with the staff at Abba’s House, the greater the level of healing.
