Rescue. Restore. Rebuild.

rescue.

The Lord is in the process of rescuing those who are held captive and setting them free by His glorious might. Every day, the brokenhearted hear about the promise and hope that the Lord offers, and find freedom in every situation.

Many of the residents at Abba’s House have stated that they are aware that they would have died had the Lord not rescued them from their surroundings. For some, it is a physical awareness: their actions were leading to destruction of their physical bodies; for others, it is a spiritual awareness: they knew that they were lost without Christ.

“He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners…” Isaiah 61:1

restore.

The Lord is restoring hopes and dreams to his children. Many of the residents have no hope for their lives and no plans for the future.

We are seeing the restoration of hopes and dreams in our graduates. Two of our most recent graduates are serving the Lord through the ministry Youth With A Mission (YWAM) and are overseas as missionaries for three months. Another is developing her God-given leadership ability through Teen Mania’s Honor Academy, a year-long leadership school designed for high school graduates to grow in their gifts and talents.

“…to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair.” Isaiah 61:3

rebuild.

Relationships are being rebuilt, day by day. Each resident has the opportunity to rebuild their relationship with God, their family, and their community.

At our most recent graduation, one of the graduating fathers stated that the relationships in their family have been rebuilt. He acknowledged that everything is not perfect; they disagree at time to time, but they have the tools to be able to take these moments to the Lord and are able to work together to continue to rebuild the broken relationships.

“They will rebuild the ancient ruins and restore the places long devastated; they will renew the ruined cities that have been devastated for generations.” Isaiah 61:4
